The federal government has increased the Special Grants for Sabah and Sarawak threefold under Budget 2027, with the latest interim payment of RM1.5 billion to be disbursed before the end of the year.

The move is part of Putrajaya’s continued effort to address the two Borneo states’ financial claims under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
