Most people use less than 10% of their phone’s feature. Oppo wants to change that

By Lee Che Liang · 19 Oct, 20:11 MYT

An internal study by Oppo found a pretty funny gap in how people use their phones. Most of us buy expensive phones but end up using less than 10% of what they can actually do.

Yet they still feel strongly about the price they paid should deliver greater value. This is especially true for mobile photography, where today’s phone cameras are way more advanced than the average person’s shooting skills.

To help fix that, Oppo officially launches the Oppo Masterclass, a practical learning initiative designed to help Malaysians get their money worth out of their phone cameras.

Hands-On Photography Classes

Running from 24 October all the way through 31 December 2026, the programme includes 60 hands-on workshops across six regions in Malaysia. Led by 40 local photographer-mentors, including creators like Amsyar Naaif, Haziq Zuki, Yusuf Madi, Zairul Puad, and Abeden Mung.

This community effort comes at a great time for Oppo, as the brand continues to grow its presence in the region by capturing roughly 19% of Malaysia’s smartphone market share as of Q2, 2026.

Building upon that momentum, Oppo has also teamed up with Tourism Malaysia as the official Mobile Photography partner for the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign.

How to Join and What You Get

To give as many people as possible a chance to learn, Oppo is offering two simple ways to join these photography workshops.

If you pre-order any phone from the new Find X10 series , you automatically unlock the Oppo Masterclass Privilege bundle, which is valued at RM1,194. This bundle gives you free access to six complete Masterclass sessions, a free bring-a-friend pass for every entry into a lucky draw, and priority entry to win an all-expressed-paid 3D2N trip to Sabah for the creators who post the best photos. These pre-order bundles are available until 29 October 2026.

If you just want to check out a class without buying a new phone, you can walk into any official Oppo Brand Store to pick up a free Oppo Taster Pass valued at RM398. This pass gets you into two workshop sessions, lets you test out a Find X loaner phone on-site, and gives you a chance to enter the contest for the 3D2N trip to Sabah.

What You Need to Know About the Find X10 Launch

The Find X10 is Oppo’s latest flagship smartphone series featuring Hasselblad co-developed cameras. The range-topping Find X10 Pro Max is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro and features a triple 200MP camera setup. Meanwhile, the more compact Find X10 runs on a Dimensity 9600M chip and it comes with dual 200MP cameras.

At the moment, Oppo is running a pre-order promo where you can get offers and freebies worth over RM4,700.

The Oppo Find X10 series is set to launch in Malaysia on 22 October 2026. More info on the Find X10 series can be found at Oppo Find X10 Series launching in Malaysia on 22 October.
