What happened
A telco concocting 'A Very Possibly True Story' isn't the most obvious choice to promote the latest iPhone model. That's exactly why it works in Vodafone's latest work via Howatson+Co -- the insight is bang on (we all have a mate whose stories get more outlandish with each retelling) -- and the execution is packed with details perfect for rewatches or cut-downs. A rideshare driver named Mo picks up Boy Soda, who wants to be Mo's best friend. They "threw mad shapes" and "hit up" a variety of iconic spots across Sydney's inner-west: Lazybones, Red Rattler, The Vanguard. They collab on a track, watched by a snake in a tank. Boy Soda's like "dude, you're a superstar", and Mo ends up with the snake draped around his neck.
A montage of pics (presumably shot on iPhone) subtly speaks to camera quality, the length of the night out hints at battery life (up to 43 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro Max), and the fact the whole story is retold over the phone to a mate the next day, with the phone prominently but naturally featured throughout? Even better.
