Ba’Kelalan to have new RM14.8 mln health clinic by 2028 end

By Rasheeqa Bahida · 14 Oct, 11:08 MYT

A new RM14.8 million health clinic in Ba’Kelalan is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2028.

Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee said the Type 7 health clinic project had been approved and was progressing towards implementation.

“The implementation is presently undergoing the tendering process,” he said in response to Baru Bian (GPS-Ba’Kelalan) during question and answer session on Wednesday (Oct 14).

Tiang also confirmed that upgrading works on Ba’Kelalan Health Clinic and Long Semadoh Health Clinic under the Projek Klinik Daif initiative had been completed.

He said Ba’Kelalan Health Clinic received RM450,000 for upgrading works, which were completed on Nov 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Long Semadoh Health Clinic received RM300,000, with upgrading works completed on Oct 22, 2024.

Separately, Tiang said RM4 million had been approved to upgrade electricity supply infrastructure at Long Semadoh Health Clinic in Lawas, including the installation of a solar power system.

“The project commenced on July 19 this year, and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2027,” he said.
