He said MYDIN is working together with radio stations Raaga and Minnal FM, as well as newspaper Makkal Osai, to carry out the initiative.
For MYDIN, festive celebrations are not just about promotions and sales, but also an opportunity for us to share joy and support those in need.
Through the ‘A Brighter Deepavali’ campaign, we want to ensure that the joy of Deepavali can also be felt by the communities we support,” he said.
RM100,000 for 15 welfare homes
According to Ahimmat, MYDIN, through its MYDIN Prihatin initiative together with participating suppliers, will contribute RM100,000 in cash vouchers and essential goods to 15 welfare homes registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

He added that members of the public can also contribute essential items through donation baskets provided at selected MYDIN outlets until Oct 30.
Customers are also welcome to contribute so that more people can experience the joy of Deepavali through the assistance that will be distributed from Nov 1 to Nov 8,” he said.
Bombay Bazaar supports small Indian businesses
Meanwhile, the “A Brighter Deepavali” campaign also features Bombay Bazaar, organised in collaboration with Taaka Lee Studio, bringing together small businesses from the Indian community to introduce their products to MYDIN customers.

Ahimmat said the initiative provides opportunities for small businesses to expand, while also introducing products and culture from the Indian community to the public.
MYDIN has always supported small and local entrepreneurs by opening opportunities for them to gain access to a wider market.
Through Bombay Bazaar, we are not only providing economic opportunities to small businesses, but also giving customers the chance to discover and try the various products being offered,” he said.
The “A Brighter Deepavali” campaign is part of MYDIN’s ongoing efforts through MYDIN Prihatin to carry out social responsibility programmes and share benefits with the community.
