BAU : Kampung Melayu Pangkalan Loji is set to benefit from a new alternative link road connecting to Jalan Taiton, providing villagers with smoother and safer access.
Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep noted that while the project, which stretches about 400 metres, has been planned to ease congestion, it currently faces a minor hurdle involving a privately-owned plot of land.
“We can ask permission from the landowner for an agricultural road to be built. When we have this road, the landowner can also benefit from this project.
“But this has been going on for a while, and that is the challenge we are currently facing,” he explained.
He said this to reporters after attending a Leader with the Community programme at Surau An-Nur, Kampung Melayu Pangkalan Loji, here this morning (Oct 11).
Henry stressed that the alternative route is critical, particularly for improving emergency response times within the densely built settlement.
“When there’s an emergency in the village, emergency services will need to come in. Thus, this road is significant, and it will be under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP).
“Other than that, vehicles can enter and exit with ease, helping to prevent accidents and ease tight navigation constraints,” he added.
During the event, Henry also announced key financial allocations for the village, comprising RM200,000 for the construction of a new community hall and RM20,000 to support religious programmes and activities at Surau An-Nur.
