Vithya Ramaraj at Asian Games

For the unversed, Vithya’s Asian Games campaign became even more special after she broke a 42-year-old national record held by legendary athlete PT Usha.

She broke the record in the women’s 400m hurdles, where she won the bronze medal. Vithya clocked a personal best of 54.75 seconds to finish third in the final.

Her timing improved Usha’s previous national record of 55.42 seconds by 0.67 seconds. Usha had set the record at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, where she finished fourth in the Olympic final.

Vithya also played a key role in India’s gold medal victory in the women’s 4x400m relay.

The Indian team featured Kiran Pahal, M.R. Poovamma, Prachi and Vithya Ramaraj.

Rajinikanth’s meeting with Vithya came a day after actor Dhanush also met the athlete and congratulated her for her performances at the Asian Games.

Rajinikanth’s next films

On the work front, Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of his much awaited sequel, ‘Jailer 2’ helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is set to release in theatres on October 15.

Meanwhile, the legendary actor is working on his next project ‘Dharmam’ in which he will be seen playing a doctor who seems to take on criminals.

Rajinikanth’s collaborations with Kamal Haasan

The makers had earlier released a title poster showing the Superstar inside an operation theatre, holding a scalpel and standing over what appeared to be a slain rowdy sheeter. It is produced by veteran actor Kamal Haasan under his banner.

Interestingly, both the veteran actors have another film lined up with each other. The film is tentatively called, ‘RKxKH’ and will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Expectations are high for Rajinikanth's upcoming 'Jailer 2'.
