Bintulu FA reach Sarawak Premier Cup semi-finals

BINTULU : Defending champions Bintulu FA have secured their place in the semi-finals of the Sarawak Premier Cup 2026 after edging ATM 1-0 on aggregate, despite a goalless draw in the second leg of their quarter-final at Padang Sintetik BDA on Saturday (Oct 17).

Bintulu entered the return leg with a narrow advantage following their 1-0 victory in the first leg at Padang Perumahan, Petra Jaya, Saturday (Oct 10).

Head coach Farhan Abdullah congratulated his players on securing qualification and said the team would use the experience to sharpen their performance ahead of the semi-finals.

He acknowledged that Bintulu had opportunities to score against ATM but needed greater confidence and composure in the attacking third to make the most of their chances.

“When we get opportunities, we need to be more confident. We had chances, but we wasted them.

“We need to improve how we keep possession when we reach the attacking third,” he told Sarawak Tribune after the match.

Farhan added that Bintulu needed to address their weaknesses and avoid giving opponents too much space as they prepare for the semi-finals, scheduled for Oct 24.
