Health Ministry: Over 6,700 officers approved for promotions and acting appointments, including four chopper crash victims
PUTRAJAYA, Oct 17 — A total of 6,724 officers from various service schemes under the Ministry of Health (MOH) have been approved for acting appointments and promotions to the Senior Management Service (JUSA) and Grades 10 to 15.
The approvals were granted by the Public Service Promotion Board (LKPPA) on October 13, according to a statement issued today.
The move reflects the ministry’s continued efforts to recognise officers’ commitment, dedication and achievements in ensuring smooth operations and effective healthcare service delivery.
In line with improvements to career progression under the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), the board also approved excellence-based promotion criteria for officers under MOH’s teaching service scheme, allowing them to be promoted without a vacant post.
The approval provides the officers concerned with better opportunities for career advancement.
The ministry also paid tribute to four officers who served with the Flying Doctor Service (PDU) and died in a helicopter crash while on duty on September 8.
All four were approved for posthumous promotions in recognition of their service and dedication.
The ministry expressed confidence that such recognition would encourage continued excellence and strengthen officers’ commitment to building a high-quality, sustainable and responsive national healthcare system.
It will continue to review and implement improvements to ensure officers’ welfare and career development receive due attention. — Bernama
