Hujan lebat berterusan menyebabkan paras Sungai Iguazú meningkat luar biasa sehingga melebihi 12,000 meter padu sesaat, sekali gus memaksa penutupan sementara laluan pelancongan di Air Terjun Iguazú di Argentina serta sekatan akses di Brazil.

Aktiviti pelayaran di pelabuhan Iguazú turut digantung susulan paras air melebihi 25 meter, sementara pihak berkuasa kedua-dua negara memantau keadaan dan menilai tahap keselamatan sebelum kawasan terjejas dibuka semula.
