KUCHING, Oct 18 — A 12-foot crocodile was captured at Teluk Nipah beach in Buntal here last Thursday.

The Civil Defence Force Kuching (APM Kuching), in a Facebook post, said its response team, together with personel from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) and Nemo Hunter team, carried out the operation to capture the crocodile.

Meanwhile, in his Facebook post, licensed crocodile hunter Jeffery Siew said the capture followed a public report from a 55-year-old man.

He expressed relief that the man who reported the discovery was unharmed.

“The successful operation highlights the importance of public cooperation in keeping our communities safe.

“Residents and visitors are reminded to stay alert near beaches, rivers and other areas where crocodiles may be present,” Siew said. — The Borneo Post
