Leave refugee-related issues to the authorities - Saifuddin
Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has urged Malaysians not to take the law into their own hands if they encounter alleged activities by refugees that cause dissatisfaction among residents or local communities.
This was in response to a question by Jimmy Puah (Harapan-Tebrau), over viral videos showing individuals confronting Rohingya, demanding to see their UNHCR cards and behaving as though they had enforcement powers.
While acknowledging public unease over the presence of refugees, he said any action must remain within the law.
