A woman recently shared a heartwarming experience she had during an e-hailing ride, which has since touched the hearts of many netizens.

Taking to Threads , Yaya (@yyayaaa) recalled booking a ride where the driver had prepared a basket of blank papers and a bucket for passengers to leave their messages.

Malaysian praises e-hailing driver’s thoughtful way to keep passengers engaged during rides

What caught Yaya’s attention was a sign on the back of the front passenger seat that read, “When was the last time you felt hopeful?”

Passengers were encouraged to write down their answers and drop them into a bucket, which Yaya noticed was already filled with messages from previous passengers.

“The car ride just now was so cute. There was a question inside the car that read, ‘When was the last time you felt hopeful?’ and there was even a bucket for passengers to leave their messages. Quite a lot of people filled it in too,” she wrote.

Yaya, who also left a message of her own, praised the driver’s thoughtful idea, saying it gave passengers a chance to pause and reflect instead of spending the entire ride scrolling through their phones.

“Instead of scrolling through our phones the entire ride, we got to sit with our own feelings for a little while. The driver was Chinese, but he played nothing but Malay songs throughout the ride. The whole experience was just so wholesome. Love it,” she added.
