Sebangkoi MTB Jamboree offers RM11,650 in prizes

KUCHING : Cycling enthusiasts across Sarawak are being invited to take part in the inaugural Sebangkoi MTB Jamboree 2026, scheduled for November 8 in Sarikei.

The event offers a total of RM11,650 in cash prizes across six categories.

Competition chairman, Saiful Hanizam Suhaini said the event is organised by the Laser Light Sports and Recreation Club (KSRLL), in collaboration with the Sarikei Resident’s Office, with support from the Sarawak Cycling Association and Sarikei Bicycle Association (PERBASA).

The one-day race will start at Sebangkoi Recreation Park and cover a distance of 30 kilometres.

The six categories are Men’s Open (18 and above), Women’s (13 and above), Veteran (40-49), Master (50-59), Super Master (60 and above), and Junior (13-17).

“We encourage cycling enthusiasts from across Sarawak to take part in the race.

Saiful said the event would provide riders with an opportunity to showcase their abilities, particularly young cyclists, while gaining exposure to more competitive racing.

He added that the participation of experienced riders would give younger competitors a valuable opportunity to assess their abilities against more seasoned cyclists.

Saiful said the event would also help promote a healthy lifestyle among cycling enthusiasts.
