Homegrown mobility platform Setel has launched a beta feature that allows users to activate fuel pumps using their voice
Rolled out yesterday, 7 October, the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Voice Fuelling system currently supports English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, and Tamil.
The feature aims to make digital transactions more intuitive for those who prefer speaking over tapping.
Here's how to use the Setel Voice Fuelling feature
STEP 1: Open the Setel app to see "Say pump number…" banner on your homepage.

STEP 2: Say your pump number in English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, or Tamil out loud to your smartphone.

STEP 3: Double-check your pump number before fuelling your vehicle.

STEP 4: Start fuelling!

The AI handles the rest, instantly processing the payment based on your saved payment methods and fuelling preferences.
"At Setel, we have always believed technology should make everyday life a little easier, not give people more things to figure out," said Setel chief executive officer Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin in a statement.
PETRONAS dealers and ground staff will be on hand to help drivers set up the voice-activated system
If you are new to the platform, downloading the app, verifying your account, and pumping a minimum of one litre will earn you five times the Mesra Rewards points.
This introductory offer is capped at 500 points and is valid across RON95, RON97, and diesel purchases.
You can download the Setel app on the Google PlayStore or the Apple App Store.
