KUCHING : Hipmau FC will once again fly the Sarawak flag at the Malaysia Chinese Football Association (MCFA) Unity Cup 2026, marking their second appearance in the tournament as the sole club representing East Malaysia.
Manager Joseph Tan said the team would give their best as they prepare to take on four opponents in Group B of the five-day tournament, which runs from Oct 22 to 26 at JSA Arena in Selangor.
“We will do our best and give everything for Sarawak.
“We have a mission this time, and our target is to reach the final,” he told Sarawak Tribune when contacted today (Oct 17).
Hipmau FC will field a 20-man squad comprising players from Kuching to Miri, reflecting the team’s representation of Sarawak beyond the state capital.
The squad also includes two national players and two state players, namely Joseph Kalang Tie, Ching Hong Aik, Saravanan Muthia and Rames Lai Ban Huat.
Hipmau FC will begin their Group B campaign against MCRC on Thursday (Oct 22) at 8pm before facing Camarada on Friday (Oct 23) at 9.30pm.
They will then play Choon My at 9.30am on Saturday (Oct 24), followed by SCRC at 7.30pm to complete their group-stage fixtures.
With several strong and experienced teams in the group, Hipmau FC will be looking to remain united and deliver their best performances as they pursue their ambition of reaching the final.
