‘It’s My Right!’ — M’sian Woman Refuses To Wear Bra While Dad & Brother Are At Home | WeirdKaya

While everyone has the right to choose what they want (or don’t want) to wear, there still exists the need for basic courtesy and respect for others when the need arises.

A mother is at a loss over what to do with her daughter who absolutely refuses to put on a bra when in the shared space with male family members.

No bra at all

In an anonymous confession , the mother wrote her daughter had the habit of not wearing a bra while at home — an issue that has been a source of headache for her.

“I understand young people nowadays value their personal freedom and don’t like being controlled too much by their parents as they believe they should be able to wear whatever they want at home as long as they’re comfortable.

“However, I’m not the only one living in our house. Her father and older brother live here too,” she explained.

The mother added that since her daughter doesn’t wear a bra, the outline of her breasts are quite noticeable even while clothed.

‘My house, my freedom!’

Despite the mother’s repeated attempts to plead with her daughter to be mindful of what she doesn’t wear in the presence of guests and male family members, the latter snapped:

This is my home, and what I wear is my freedom!”

Her daughter’s response has left the mother feeling helpless and exhausted as she has no idea what else she could do to change her daughter’s behaviour.

“I don’t want her to feel that I’m interfering with her bodily autonomy over this issue either. But as her mother, I genuinely don’t know where to draw the line.

“If your daughter is already an adult and insists that not wearing a bra at home is her personal freedom, even when her father and older brother are around, should a mother respect her choice or remind her to be considerate of her family’s feelings?” she asked.

Netizens had plenty to say on the issue, with some bluntly pointing out that the daughter’s behaviour was the result of being spoilt as a child.

However, some felt that not wearing a bra wasn’t a big issue, adding that as long most family members don’t mind, the daughter should have the right to choose what she wants to wear.
