Bintulu housing projects target B40, M40 income groups
SEVERAL housing projects are being implemented and planned in Bintulu to increase the supply of residential land and affordable housing for the B40 and M40 income groups, said Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
He said the initiatives involve the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), the Sarawak Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development, and the Sarawak Land and Survey Department.
“BDA, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development Sarawak (MUDeNR) and Land and Survey Department Sarawak (L&S), are also undertaking and planning several housing development projects in Bintulu to increase the supply of residential land and affordable housing for the B40 and M40 income groups,” he said.
He was responding to issues raised by the assemblymen for Jepak and Tanjong Batu in his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly sitting today.
Dr Sim said SPK Jelutong, Jepak and SPK Tatau were under construction and nearing completion.
“SPS Jelutong and the Jepak Urban Redevelopment Project had been approved, while SPK Tatau Phase Two was being planned.
“Through the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), we have also identified two parcels of state land in Jepak for future affordable housing development.
“My ministry, through HDC, has identified two parcels of State Land for affordable housing in Jepak, namely Lot 111, Block 36, Kemena Land District (KLD), and Lot 61, Block 36, Kemena Land District (KLD), for the future development of affordable housing,” he said.
