Nanga Ngungun clinic to receive new ambulance in 2027

By Jacintha Jolene · 20 Oct, 20:52 MYT

NANGA Ngungun Health Clinic (KK Nanga Ngungun) is expected to receive a new ambulance in 2027 under a nationwide procurement initiative covering 69 health clinics.

Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said the procurement is being carried out by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), with delivery to the clinic projected for next year.

He was replying to Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana during his ministerial winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.

Sim said KK Nanga Ngungun is a Type 7 clinic serving 2,812 people, with an average daily attendance of 19 patients and support from five local staff.

The clinic currently provides essential healthcare services, including outpatient care and maternal and child health services.

“Based on the current workload and service utilisation, the existing service arrangement is considered appropriate to meet the present healthcare needs of the community,” he said.

He added that medical officer services would continue to be provided through the Rural Clinic Visiting Doctor (RCVD) programme, which sends doctors to the clinic for three days each month.

These visits are complemented by the existing clinic staff and established emergency referral arrangements to ensure continued access to healthcare services for the local community.
