Julau petrol station site gets approval

By Alezxandria Kapple · 13 Oct, 10:15 MYT

AN application for a petrol station site at KM1.2 Julau Feeder Road, Ulu Sungai Jikang, has been approved, with construction required to be completed within 18 months of the land title’s registration.

Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the application involved part of Lot 480, Block 3, Jikang Land District.

“The application was approved on Nov 27, 2025, and the approval was conveyed through a ministry letter dated Jan 15, 2026,” he said when responding to Datuk Rolland Duat Jubin (GPS-Meluan) during the Q&A session on Tuesday (Oct 13).

Responding to Rolland’s supplementary questions on the land title conditions and lease period, Len said the land could only be used for a petrol station.

He added that construction must comply with the approved plans and specifications and be completed within 18 months from the date the land title is registered.

The land could neither be transferred nor subleased without permission from the director of the Sarawak Land and Survey Department.

“The leasehold tenure for land used for a petrol station is 60 years from the date the land title is registered,” he said.
